While we’re at the topic of cleaners and cleaning, would the relevant authorities do something about shopping malls recycling water/detergent used for cleaning toilets to clean the main shopping areas? There is at least one mall in the east and recently one in the central area that reeked of urine.

    Dear all,

There are some good reads here.

    Hi,

Interesting how this entire discussion has morphed. Darkness do you mind, if I take a bite at Debbie’s quuestion?

    https://singaporedaily.wordpress.com/2008/02/22/daily-sg-22-feb-2008/#comment-1263

What Debbie’s says makes sense. Literature happens to be my forte, teaching it at least at a tertiary level, so I am not as qualified as some people here, but I feel there is a piece to add.

In British culture, for instance, one may discover as Debbie puts it a quorum, usually its exclusive enough to perclude most and admit only a few, the freemasons and old boys network stands out. hey are designed to keep out others to make do nothing else except perpetuate they own vision of the world.

However, I don’t Debbie may have been referring to those exclusive cosy instances of insiderism, she is very specific, she is saying the establishment may be trying to hijack the social and political discussion by bring Catherine lim out of blogoland and plonking her in the real world. So what is the X=-Ray analysis here I wonder. T

This may sound like the stuff of conspiracy theories, but coming back to the case of culture in the literary sense, one may well discover what Debbie says holds true in Shakespeare, Defoe and even Austen what these authors do is fix socially desirable practises by entrenching them. We would like to say they are merely literature designed solely to entertain, but when seen in the wider context as Debbie puts it, they can empower, sanction, boycott and in certain cases even completely isolate and cut off.

One example of this is the recent NLB classification of the 11 so called sterling blogs. I noticed none of them are anon blogs, despite the fact, the internet comprise up to 80% of anon bloggers, so who represents the anon bloggers.

I think, I have been a trifle long winded here, thanks for the debate as always.:)

  4. Oppenheimer says:

Really it’s simple, if I can control the dialogue, I am able to fashion the reality. Why do you think the Bush Admin put out a gag order on everyone prior the invasion of Iraq? My take….Cat Lim was definitely set up, that says 50%, the other 50%, I think we have to wait for the maestro to shed light on the issue – Darkness.

as much as I respect him in every category, I feel he cannot answer this without Vollairiane et al. Good Day all and Good Work SG Daily.

Most interesting development in this discussion and I thought it was dead, must remember, it is the BP, the BP, the BP hehehehe

  5. Darkness says:

    Chronicler,

Re: Is Gelly & gang a threat to the Brotherhood?

Is Gelly a threat? No! Consider this she ‘hates’ me so much, that she writes no end about how conniving and manipulative I am and she bears it all out for anyone who is willing to hear – have you considered the emotional energy it takes to do that?

There are very strong emotions at work here. Have you considered what would happened if they could be reversed?

My feel is she simply wants me to sit next to her and listen and I am 100% confident with time, she and her friends will come our way – it’s really that easy Chronicler, like Kacang Puteh. Consider the opposite Chronicler, we fight her, she fights – we may or may not win, but it will consume energy, there is no wisdom there.

Let me handle this, you all have to trust me, its very delicate, but we cannot afford to alienate those who have intellectual capacity to destroy us, we need to bring them into our fold, so that they will see the world from our position. We must Chronicler, do you understand? She is a woman after all, she is her worst enemy, I cannot lose. Proceed and arrange a real world meeting – Darkness 2008

  6. Darkness says:

I want you and Harphoon and come with me. Watch and learn!

  7. Darkness says:

As for the broadcast of the 2010 Youth Olympics, let us wait for the NLB compilation of the 100.

It cannot just disappear into dust?

I have feeling they will somehow throw this issue into the bin.

But we have not forgotten, we never forget, let us wait for the outcome, thereafter we will comment. Darkness 2008

Remember I was not the first to play with shit here!
