“I want to talk about the important things of life, about happiness, well being and what it means to be alive. About those unexpected moments when the world suddenly stops twirling and you suddenly find yourself falling silent – and you simply know you are at one with the universe.
I want to talk about tubular bells in Bedok jetty in early morn in May, about the harmony and blissful rhapsody of blissful nothingness, about distant supertankers harbored in the distance bellowing as they often do. About yellows, reds and blue finches darting past the blue of the eaves.
I want to talk about the pleasures of ordinary conversations, the type where you simply say to yourself, “perhaps I will see the world slightly differently after this darkness.” About what happens to your mind when you step into the afternoon sun and feel the warm embrace of air as it curls around you like embrace of a season.
I want to remember the cerulean skies, in the earlier morning in Bukit Timah, the languorous period just before dawn, when we are all one for all and all for one.
I want to remember it all, if all is too much to ask, then some of it and let me say this to you all, “long live the brotherhood!”
It has been a privilege. May I salute you all, I am Darkness 2007.”

I cannot tahan, I have to wish him good bye. I know he doesn’t like it, but he must. He has been a part of my life ever since I could remember. (I am sorry to use the Genuie Brotherhood line)
Love Always

No time for meaning, sorry.
I cannot tahan, I have to wish him good bye.
I know he doesn’t like it, but he must.
9 February 2008 at 11:38 am
cannot tahan these days does seem like quiet a common problem, does it? I am not too bothered ; brotherhood has many allies in the net, they are not the most polite folk, but they keep their word and they never two face, this many value as it means they do not peng lai peng kee ; with so much ground support, it is fair to assume, it is not over till the fat lady says she oso cannot tahan.
9 February 2008 at 3:18 pm
“keep their word and they never two face”.
sama leh…
9 February 2008 at 3:21 pm

Good Bye Bambi
10 February 2008 at 11:54 am
“Good Bye Bambi,” I really don’t think so. That can really only happen if someone comes along and fills up the hole without missing a beat. Or if the NLB was so right as not to be wrong in their assesment of blog land. As it is with the passing of everyday, they cannot seem to be wronger (is there such a word? There should be). Truth remains no one seems to be stepping in to fill the gap, not Mr Brown, Mr Wang or any of those famous experts.
All we can do is like the cantonese say, “I look at you and you look at me” and hopefully the world will be the same.
That I am afraid can never be the case, once your eyes are open, you simply have to see what you see.

I really don’t believe it can be that easy, the MSM likes to give it that impression and so do govt agencies etc, like I said, there are no short cuts, someone needs to step in and be able to fill in the hole, till they do so, the unfulfilled demand will always generate a market for shattered dreams

Title: Why is so difficult to find a Singaporean Bill Gates? – A Journey To Self Discovery.
“I am sure somewhere in Singapore there is a Bill Gates or Steve Jobs to be found? We’ve just haven’t found him yet – have you ever wondered why Singapore doesn’t regularly produce these sort of mavericks. I am not talking about just making machines, that I am sure is important. Rather the focus of this article is what does it really take to produce stuff that inspires meaningful to change in the way we work, live and play?
To put it in a nutshell, it’s a state of mind.
Is Singapore the place to produce these mavericks?”

@Gigi
“the unfulfilled demand will always generate a market for shattered dreams”
I agree; I’m sure that’s why there’re so many millionaires Singapore.
@KKP
I don’t suppose you ever noticed the difference between news under the different sections then?
11 February 2008 at 8:42 am
No KKP, sarcasm isn’t the lowest form of wit.
It makes for the best summaries.
11 February 2008 at 8:46 am
#16 Correction:
It should have been “quick millionaires”.
11 February 2008 at 9:01 am
Now, I wonder why do people like KKP assume that you can have TV in The Wilderness?
I don’t know about Bambi lah, but I know that if he’s indeed of The Wilderness, he doesn’t watch TV.
11 February 2008 at 9:04 am
“stop being abusive”
Then kindly stop stealing ideas from coyotebear.
11 February 2008 at 9:35 am
We didn’t set the precedent.
The quick millionaires did: If you can’t pay through the sky, don’t expect anything nice.
They gave permission that it is okay to be drama, to be mean, and most of all, to be greedy.
11 February 2008 at 9:38 am
Isn’t it thus, legitimate, an expectation?
11 February 2008 at 9:42 am
Thus is, the reminder of that rule, also legitimate.
If you used the ideas, you pay for them.
If you don’t want to pay, you don’t use them.
11 February 2008 at 9:44 am
You said you’d prefer that Bambi say goodbye.
On your part, you don’t seem to have said goodbye; if you did, perhaps there wouldn’t still be ideas stolen after “having said goodbye”.
So why would Bambi say goodbye?
11 February 2008 at 9:49 am
Would seem then, that it doesn’t take much education nor imagination to be a journo in Singapore.
11 February 2008 at 9:51 am
Never learnt, at the very least, attribution?
11 February 2008 at 10:46 am
Yes, they have many friends.

How to produce a Bill Gates? Singaporeans are brought up with the impression that dropping out of school means dropping out of social standing
11 February 2008 at 11:30 am
“won’t be held responsible she fell in love in the first place”
won’t be held responsible there was a failure in generalship besides a failure to communicate.
11 February 2008 at 11:50 am
I really do not think it is very nice, fair or gentlemanly to make fun of Bambi Darkness, especially when he is not around to defend himself.
May I pls ask is the Fiona Xie Thread a revitalised Navigation Site? Bc I seem to be getting a ticker on the read list bulletin board?
Many Thanks
11 February 2008 at 11:51 am
Bambi Bad Boy Darkness will say Good Bye Because Valentine’s Day is coming very soon!
11 February 2008 at 12:14 pm
Oh, SPHgirl, won’t you tie my laces for me before you go?
I don’t know where that boy is, but really…
What do you think of me as a second-rate starlet?
I can’t sing and I’m as flat as an airport runway, but surely, I’ll have some redeeming points, don’t ya think?
*bats sphgirl an eyelid*
11 February 2008 at 12:15 pm
And the bra strap too… I hope it helps!
Thanks!
11 February 2008 at 12:20 pm
Dear Gigi,
I wish you’d stop disgracing us in public.
The Elders won’t forgive you for that, I’m sure.
Plus, you’re too soppy to be part of The Wilderness!
Such a city girl like those pesky Sinkaporean girls.
Distasteful; chicken breast would taste nicer.
11 February 2008 at 12:22 pm
@Passerby:
But I’m dressing for Andie, you know… Andie How?
Doesn’t need to be too high-quality.
11 February 2008 at 12:24 pm
But it’s okay, I doubt you plebian passerbys would understand much of this thing called, Chinese-fan-seduction.
I just need to meet better coniaks.
11 February 2008 at 12:28 pm
Better a little hairy; you know how they used to run an article in the Life! section wrt how ang-mohs were better because… they had more hair?
So say… Is “Gigi” bimbotic-sounding enough?
I’m a submissive gal…
11 February 2008 at 12:31 pm
*COUGHS MAJOR, WITH BLOOD*
I have a suggestion: Maybe you should improve your England a bit?
I don’t know if you’re Taiwanese lah, buddenhor… wanna compete as Gigi must have good Engrish.
And then want to compete with less-tasty-than-chicken-breast (so you can enter Chinese Pop market) must also have better Engrish.
And since I give my comment here hor, I already help pass red-tape.
Can I have my $1,000 please?
11 February 2008 at 12:32 pm
Buddenalsohor, please dont go down on me hor… nothing to watch coz damn flat sia.
11 February 2008 at 12:34 pm
(ie. wanna run also no support to hold on to.)
11 February 2008 at 2:05 pm
Keep it up Squirrel & Zombie
Keep it up, I say. I noticed you only seem to like to disrupt them here in the Singapore Daily.
You are not even man enough to go over to the either Just Stuff or the Intelligent Singaporean, because you know very well, he will whip you like a dog. LOL, it is easy to snipe at others when they are not around.
Guess what I have just told the chronicler what you have done. They will be coming very soon with a big surprise.
Jan
11 February 2008 at 3:36 pm
Ah? Disrupt?
The intention wasn’t even to disrupt.
11 February 2008 at 3:43 pm
As far as I’m concerned, I don’t think I ever knew you, just what I was told of you.
And as well, you never knew me.
11 February 2008 at 3:49 pm
And so, there wasn’t anything to begin with.
Just a mother’s song.
A fiction.
Lacking any frame of reference thence, all words and songs imaginariums, as it became.
But just as, a reality you preferred to ignore.
11 February 2008 at 4:15 pm
If you can understand that, you’ll understand why it is not disruption.
It’s a bit like drinking late at night and dancing a lone dance; it’s not meant to mean anything.
11 February 2008 at 4:32 pm
Plus, I don’t think it is “man enough” to do and think the “man enough” assertion.
I apologise if you’re so offended.
But I’ve got no interest in such “manly contests”; there’re much better things to do and learn to do.
11 February 2008 at 4:47 pm
It’d have helped a lot, if someone told me exactly what went wrong.
Besides of course, the usual explosions that occurred when the personal worlds collapsed.
